A fake update screen for the oldest trick in office comedy: a fullscreen "Installing updates — do not turn off your computer" page that isn't updating anything at all. The percentage races to about 30%, slows to a crawl through the 80s, and then parks at 99% forever, exactly like every update you have ever waited on.

Open it on a friend's unlocked computer, press F for fullscreen, and walk away. The cursor hides itself after a couple of seconds, so the screen looks convincingly busy. When the victim finally cracks, Escape reveals an ordinary browser tab and no harm done.

How to run the prank
