Matrix Rain Screensaver

This is a free, fullscreen Matrix rain effect — the falling green code, also called digital rain, that has been shorthand for "serious computer things are happening" ever since 1999. It runs entirely in your browser: press F or the Fullscreen button and the controls disappear, leaving nothing but rain.

Use it as a screensaver on an idle monitor, a background for a party or LAN setup, an establishing shot in a video, a stream intermission screen, or the world's most dramatic "be right back" page. Pick green for the classic look, pink for a cyberpunk feel, amber for retro terminal vibes, or any custom color, then set the fall speed and copy a link that restores the exact setup.

How to use it

  1. Press F (or the Fullscreen button) for a clean full-screen effect. Escape exits.
  2. Pick a color preset or use + to choose your own.
  3. Drag the speed slider from a slow drizzle to a downpour.
  4. Choose Copy setup link to save or share your exact color and speed.
